Chemistry

Children under 11 must be supervised by an adult.

1. Complete three of the following experiments and be able to explain how they work. You must use appropriate safety equipment. Anyone who does not clean up their experiment after will fail the badge.

- A Diet Coke and Mentos fountain
- Glowing Water (DO NOT DRINK)
- A Vegetable Oil Lava Lamp.
- Steel Wool and Vinegar.
- Moving Molecules
- Bath Salts or bath bombs
- Make your own Lemonade.
- Dry Ice Bubble.
- Baking soda and vinegar volcano.
- Molecular Gastronomy
- Any other chemistry experiment set by a qualified adult.

2. Make a poster about one of the following. You may consult with a qualified adult first if you like.
- A career for which chemistry is required or a part
- A theory or research relating to chemistry
- A practical use for chemistry e.g. medicine/culinary
