The last thing Bonnie wanted to do was bring Billie back to this potential gun scene, but she couldn't explain her disappearing. So when she slips back through the hole in the motorcycle cover with Jay, she immediately ducks out the other side to put her back against the wall.

"Okay. Ted is in the house, holding a gun. I don't know where he got it but he said there was an intruder. Turtle was on an early, so he ought to be home, but I don't know where. If Ted's home, Stuart ought to be home too, unless it was him that ran to call the cops."

"Got it." Jay nods, cupping her upper arm and pulling something out of a pocket in his belt. He might not be in his full armour but the jacket he's wearing will stop a bullet at anything but point blank. "Let me deal with this first."

He sprays a thin gel over the entry and exit wounds that makes the area cold as the blood clots and he rewraps it. "Think your boys will remember me from the wedding?"

He nods sharply and pulls something else out of his jacket - a stiff, dull grey piece of fabric which he wraps around Billie. "It'll protect her. Just in case."

At her comment about getting out if there's danger, he shakes his head with a rueful smile. "Bon, you know me. I'm good with danger."

He moves silently to the edge of their cover, pulling a pair of goggles down over his eyes. Sadly, not his full helmet heads-up display but at least they'll give him an inferred scan for body heat.

He slips a baton from his belt and creeps forward, keeping to the shadows. Most of his training has been in non-lethal take downs so he has no fear he'll hurt Bonnie's boys. Scare them maybe but nothing that won't heal.

He shifts a small mirror from his belt and uses it to assess the situation just inside the door.

Jay waits till the young man is moving and follows him, keeping behind him where he can't be seen. He keeps his inferred scanner running, tracking to see where other heat sources were coming from.

Jay stays where he has the protection of the kitchen doorway, pressed against the wall as Ted checks on the fallen figure. He scans the rest of the house.

Jay makes just enough sound for Ted to hear as the young man come back out into the hall.

"Is it safe to being Bonnie and Billie Rae inside now?" He asks directly, hoping to short circuit Ted's panic reaction.

Good, because Jay was ready to take if off him if Ted had lifted it. "I'm here with Bonnie. She asked me to back you up. I'm medically trained." He nods towards the kitchen.

"Go do that. Then let Bonnie know it's safe to come in. Once Turtle's stable, we'll come up with a plan."

He moves over to Turtle, pulling trauma supplies out of the lining of his jacket and starting his assessment.

Jay puts pressure in the wound and checks Turtle's breathing. Doesn't look like the bullet hit anything vital. He starts scanning for evidence as he does, still Bruce's son in some ways. "Let Bonnie know he'll be okay."

Jay lets them deal, busy keeping pressure on the hole in his chest. "The bullet seems to have missed all the important stuff. If we can fish it put and stop you leaking, you'll be fine."

It's as much for Bonnie's benefit as Turtle's. "Bon, need you to keep his hand warm. Turtle, you need to tell me if your fingers or toes start tingling."

Jay peels back the bandages and looks. "I haven't yet, but I can. But it might be better to wait for the ambulance."

Jay looks up at Ted, touching the baton at his hip. "If they come back, we'll deal with them." There's a dark promise to his voice.

Jay shakes his head and holds his hand out for the gun before Bonnie puts it away, cleaning all fingerprints off it and checking the remaining ammo with practised efficiency.

"I'll do a parameter check." Jay takes Bonnie's hand and presses it over the wound to put pressure there. "And it wouldn't hurt to have someone out front to flag down the ambulance."

Jay works his way around the edge of the truck, baton drawn and moving silently. He drops to check under the truck, checking the number of shoes present.

[personal profile] runningred 2016-09-11 07:35 am (UTC)(link)
He stows the baton under his jacket and steps around the truck with care. "It's okay, it's safe now."

"Turtle's been hurt but he's stable. The ambulance is on it's way. Bonnie and Ted are inside."

"Not sure." Jay steps back to let the cops by. "Head in and help Bonnie. Let her know I'll keep an eye out here." And he still wants to check the perimeter for clues. That and he's not the sort of person the cops might like hanging around.

Jay causally fingerprints the lock and bolt and takes photos. He stashes his gear back in the many hidden pockets of his jacket and heads for the back door, tracking the path.

[personal profile] runningred 2016-09-15 10:35 am (UTC)(link)
Jay collects the evidence and pockets it, moving quietly towards the back door. He waits to see if there's anything else to see before stepping into the open, making sure the cops can see him.

Jay waits by the door, looking to Bonnie. "What'd you need?"

[personal profile] runningred 2016-09-17 07:23 am (UTC)(link)
Jay nods and approached the officers and asks for access to Bonnie's address book. He intentionally holds himself like a military man, slipping the baton to a clear and visible position. Don't want them to think he's hiding anything.

[personal profile] runningred 2016-09-18 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
Jay's happy for them to notice the baton, rather than the knives in his boots or the other tricks in the lining of his jacket. Frankly, he's surprised they're not more suspicious of him.

He gets the book and calls Leroy, briefly explaining the situation.

"Thanks." Jay rings off and crosses to Bonnie's side. "I can go with the boys. If you make it clear to the police that I'm there as your representative."

Jay nods and follows the boys and the police. "I'll see you in the other side, Bonnie."

{ooc: fade works for me. Thanks for that.}
