The last thing Bonnie wanted to do was bring Billie back to this potential gun scene, but she couldn't explain her disappearing. So when she slips back through the hole in the motorcycle cover with Jay, she immediately ducks out the other side to put her back against the wall.
"Okay. Ted is in the house, holding a gun. I don't know where he got it but he said there was an intruder. Turtle was on an early, so he ought to be home, but I don't know where. If Ted's home, Stuart ought to be home too, unless it was him that ran to call the cops."

He sprays a thin gel over the entry and exit wounds that makes the area cold as the blood clots and he rewraps it. "Think your boys will remember me from the wedding?"
no subject
"Thanks. Yes, but depending on who's shooting that may not help. Could be one of the people who was at the wedding - Cassandra brought a rival gang, and Picket was there and..."
She takes a breath. "If you get in any danger promise you'll come out?"
She's beyond greatful that he's here, but terrified he'll get hurt.

At her comment about getting out if there's danger, he shakes his head with a rueful smile. "Bon, you know me. I'm good with danger."
He moves silently to the edge of their cover, pulling a pair of goggles down over his eyes. Sadly, not his full helmet heads-up display but at least they'll give him an inferred scan for body heat.

The first heat source is crouched on the stairs, keeping still.

He shifts a small mirror from his belt and uses it to assess the situation just inside the door.

He opens it. It's unlocked. He breathes. He shuts and locks the door, puts the key back on the hook, and goes back to crouch next to the figure on the floor.

Ted checks the person on the floor for a pulse, then moves back towards the hall towards the phone.

"Is it safe to being Bonnie and Billie Rae inside now?" He asks directly, hoping to short circuit Ted's panic reaction.
no subject
"Depends whose side you're on." he says. "Are you with her, or the other guy?"

"Turtle got shot." he says. "I need to call 911."

He moves over to Turtle, pulling trauma supplies out of the lining of his jacket and starting his assessment.

Turtle is on the floor, unconscious but breathing, with a gunshot wound to the chest. His vital signs aren't too bad, though.

Bonnie comes in with Billie, comes into the kitchen, and freezes, then swears.
"You sure he'll be okay?" she asks, crouching next to Turtle and putting a hand on her husband's shoulder. "Don't you dare die on me, I am not burying anyone else."
"M'fine Red, quit fussing." Turtle mutters, without opening his eyes.

It's as much for Bonnie's benefit as Turtle's. "Bon, need you to keep his hand warm. Turtle, you need to tell me if your fingers or toes start tingling."
no subject
"Ted, I'm gonna need you to give me the gun and hold Billie."
Ted hesitates.
"What if he comes back?"
no subject
Jay looks up at Ted, touching the baton at his hip. "If they come back, we'll deal with them." There's a dark promise to his voice.
no subject
"Did you recognise him?" Bonnie asks Ted, tucking the gun safely back in Turtle's holster.
"Yeah. He was at your wedding. But I don't know his name." Ted says.
"Could you pick him out again?" Bonnie asks.
"Yeah I think." Ted says.

"Where's Stuart?" Bonnie asks suddenly. "Did he come home with you?"
"No, I skipped the last period." Ted admits. "I was afraid he and you and Billie might walk in on the man with the gun so I locked the door."

"Gettin' shot indeed. Always knew you were trouble." she mutters fondly.
There is a big and a small heat source behind Bonnie's truck.

"I saw the glass broken and the blood and I didn't know what to do." Lucy says, recognising Jay from the wedding.
Hearing the sirens, she looks around. "Oh God, who's hurt?"

The drive is suddenly full of cops, who race into the house.

There is a side gate, which has a bolt at the top on the inside, but that could be reached from the outside if you stood on something. The bolt is currently unlocked, and there is a broken padlock on the floor inside the yard.

The EMTs arrive and bundle Turtle into an ambulance. Bonnie comes out of the house.
"We're going to need to take the boys to the station for questioning." one of the cops says to her.
Bonnie hesitates. She feels she needs to go with Turtle, but doesn't like the idea of the boys being interviewed on their own.

"Okay. Lucy, can you please take Terry and go with Turtle? Jay, can you please ask the cops to let you have my address book and make a call to Leroy - he's one of my boys, he's a judge. Please ask him to meet us at the police station, so he can be with the boys and then I can leave to be with Turtle?"

Outside, one of the EMTs is arguing with Bonnie about her needing to get her arm checked out.
"I am not having the boys interviewed without either myself or a qualified legal representative present." Bonnie argues. "They are minors.

He gets the book and calls Leroy, briefly explaining the situation.

"Which is the one with the temper?" one of the cops is asking another in a low voice, eying the two boys.
Leroy takes the situation calmly, and promises to be down there within the hour.

"Are you happy fer Jay to go help you? He knows what he's doin' and Leroy's on his way."
Stuart and Ted look at one another.
"If things get out of hand can we just say no comment until you get there?" Stuart asks.
"Course you can. You've done nothin' wrong, they'll just need to suspect everyone." Bonnie says. "Thanks Jay."
[ooc: We can head towards wrap here, I'm going to do the Who Shot Turtle bit as stand-alone ooms. Thanks for your help :)]

Billie, who hasn't cried the whole time, is just quiet in her arms.
